Livspace Mumbai Interior Design Nightmare: My Real Experience, Delays, Costs & Customer Service Issues

Livspace Mumbai Interior Design Nightmare: My Real Experience, Delays, Costs & Customer Service Issues
none 3.0 16

Livspace promised me a dream home. What I got instead was months of frustration, endless follow-ups, poor coordination, and one of the most exhausting home interior experiences imaginable.
From the very beginning, everything looked polished and professional. The sales process was smooth, the presentations were impressive, and the promises were endless — dedicated teams, seamless project execution, premium service, and a completely stress-free journey.
But once the project actually started, the reality was shockingly different.
The biggest issue with Livspace in Mumbai was the complete lack of coordination between teams. The designer seemed disconnected from the execution team. The site manager often had little idea what had been finalized during design discussions. And the on-ground execution felt so unorganized that it genuinely seemed like every department was working independently without any real communication.
Almost every concern was met with the same frustrating response:
“Sir, that is not my department.”
As a customer paying lakhs for professional interior services, I unexpectedly found myself becoming the actual project manager — constantly chasing updates, tracking timelines, coordinating teams, and identifying mistakes that should have been handled internally.
Site supervision was another major disappointment.
The assigned site manager rarely visited, and responsibilities were often pushed to junior staff who showed up infrequently and lacked clear answers. Basic questions such as pending work, completed milestones, material deliveries, or realistic timelines were often met with confusion or vague assurances.
At times, it felt like nobody within the company had complete visibility over the project.
Then comes Livspace’s payment structure — arguably the most efficiently designed part of their system.
A significant upfront payment is collected early, followed by aggressive payment reminders even when project execution remains incomplete. Once most of the payment is secured, urgency noticeably drops. Delays become routine, accountability weakens, and excuses become part of the daily experience.
What truly raised red flags for me was when I requested a basic reconciliation report showing:
• Total amount paid
• Completed work
• Pending scope against quotation
This is a standard expectation from any organized company handling large-scale home projects.
To my disbelief, Livspace representatives openly admitted they could not provide a clear financial or work-progress ledger.
For a company operating at such a massive scale, this lack of transparency was deeply concerning.
That was the moment I realized the glossy branding, heavy advertising, and premium image were masking serious operational inefficiencies.
In reality, Livspace felt less like a professionally managed interior solutions company and more like a heavily marketed platform struggling to manage fragmented teams, inconsistent execution, and weak customer accountability.
If you are considering Livspace for your home interiors in Mumbai or anywhere in India, do far deeper research beyond social media ads, showroom experiences, and sales promises.
Because once the contract is signed and payments begin, the premium experience can disappear very quickly.
For me, this was not the dream home journey that was promised — it became a stressful lesson in why execution matters far more than marketing.
Has anyone else faced similar issues with Livspace or other large interior companies in India?

My experience with Livspace was terrible. My project was very small, just kitchen interior changes. I really had a pathetic service, pura paisa barbaad ho gaya. They promised to complete the project in 2 months. But they delayed the project as much as they can. Even after asking for half the payment in advance, they barely started work. We had to chase the manager numerous times just to get updates. The customer service was the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. Before booking, they made lot of false promises, showing glossy designs but actually their work is cheap and poorly done. I really very disappointed by the Livspace.
Honestly, I regret choosing Livspace. It was a complete waste of money, time, and peace of mind

Like you, we also had the same horrific experience. We’ve selected Livspace for our house renovation. At first they told us, they’ll complete the project in 6 months, but they delayed the work and took one year to finish the project.
Every week they pushed the deadline further, bas timepass chal raha tha. They are expert in delaying the project. I’m sure, I won’t give them any rating. I request not everyone please choose Livspace, if you want to save your money and energy.

I strongly agree. They just making fool of people. Bade dukaan phike pakwaan. In first meeting, they will be act like more professionalism and explain the project in lovable way. But once your booking and payment are done, they will show their true colours. Instead of looking for branded and luxurious designer, just go for our local carpenter. Even, they are doing good and listen our concerns and needs. It will save your hard-earned money and peace of mind.

I don’t why people are so upset with Livspace. I bought a new flat for interior work I selected them. To be honest, they really did very well within in the assigned period and I was very happy that didn’t cross my budget.
I should thank the manager, Pooja Chauhan, who was not only kind and approachable but also extremely professional. She kept me updated at every stage, patiently addressed my queries, and made the entire process stress-free. Her attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly stood out.

Absolute nightmare experience with Livsapce. Even you take reviews from any website, mostly people give negative review for its delaying project.
In my personal experience I’d never suggest anyone to choose Livspace. Choosing Livspace is one the worst decision in my life. Their Project ekdum useless nikla and used cheap material and delivered worst workman ship and zero accountability.
Within one month my kitchen sink started to leak and poor plumbing connections. Livspace sells the dream of a beautiful home but delivers a nightmare you’ll regret. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away.

Sirf naam ka brand hai, asli quality kuch bhi nahi. They don’t have expert designer and have lack of knowledge. I asked to design my son’s room with 3D effect In poster it looked good but in real the work was like disaster. They took 10 months to complete my 2 bhk flat. Most of the work was done by the local vendors, they charge us extra like a commission. If they are outsourcing everything anyway, it’s better to directly hire local carpenters and designers. Why should I pay a premium just for their brand name?
I was left frustrated with this corporate, business minded approach that values money over customer satisfaction. A huge regret and disappointment.

My friend suggested me Livspace for interior design. Believing his words, I chose them. Honestly, it turned out to be a big mistake. I regret selecting them, and after hearing about my experience, even my friend regretted recommending them to me.
They are the scammer and fraudster. Once I paid the money for chimney later we cancelled it due to some reason but still they didn’t refund the money. In spite we raise tickets, there was no reply or required action not taken.
Once the payment was done, their job was done. After that they won’t care about their customer. heir so called “support system” is just silence. This kind of behaviour shows they are only interested in money, not in service or trust.

I didn’t have any experience in Livspace, but my home interior was done by Godrej. To be honest, I didn’t face any hurdle and disappointment like you people experience. Unlike Livspace, they don’t make any false promises and provide good customer-services. And also my dream house was designed as I liked it. The best part is that they completed the entire project 15 days before the deadline, which was a pleasant surprise.
I had a smooth, hassle free experience and would highly recommend Godrej Interiors to anyone looking for reliable and professional interior work

I had initially planned to go with Livspace, my husband advised me to do some R&D and when I did research, I came to see all the negative reviews of the company. Only few people less than 3% gave the positive comments. Really those comments saved us from wasting our money.
Instead, we gave our interior project to a local carpenter, and the experience was completely different. The work was done properly, communication was direct, and there were no unnecessary hurdles. Most importantly, they delivered exactly what we wanted without false promises or inflated charges.
Sometimes trusting local talent is far better than falling for big brand names.

One of my colleague tried Livspace for her new home. She said that was a horrible nightmare from shoddy material quality to endless delays. They trapped the customers with low estimation just to win the project, but later deliver poor quality material and make you pay more than the expected work goes on.
I suggest it is better to hire a professional interior designer through your trusted reference with proper due diligence.

In Livspace, we can find all the worst interior designer. These expert designer don’t know how to design basic thing.
Two years ago, I chose Livsapce for my kitchen renovation. We paid 8 Lakhs, only for only kitchen. Once the job was done, I was unable to place the plate in the drawers.
We raised complaints, they simply replied it was a design issue and they couldn’t do anything. Imagine spending so much money and ending up with such poor results.
Livspace talks big, but the reality is disappointing. I regret trusting them with my home.

If you ask me to rate this unprofessional company, I will give -10. I really suffered due to their mismanagement and unprofessionalism. Mujhe lagta hai inko professionalism ka matlab hi nahi pata. Wrong measurements, poor coordination, and zero communication between teams. They installed AC and Geyser wrongly and leaving the pipe visible, made a huge mess. They screwd up everything. They promised a 3 month timeline but dragged it to 6 month. Both the operations manager and designer kept passing blame instead of taking responsibility.

Livspace is the biggest scam in the name of interior design. You will feel like trapping in the net. Everything will looks good unless we raise some issues or concerns. Once we want to reach them for any complains we will see their true face.
I lost my money Rs 30000 to their scam as booking amount. They didn’t show the design based on my interest, they asked me to select the design from what they already have..
If I want customization, they charge extra with no warranty or no refund/cancellation.
They forced me to spend minimum 2L cart value or I have to forget my 30k, What a pathetic service book or lose your money…

Guys please be careful this kinda scam. Always do research in websites and go for reviews in Trustpilot, mouthshut, Google reviews, Glassdoor, and even forums like Quora and Reddit. Don’t fall into the trap without knowing the full process, prices, and hidden conditions.

After lot of struggles and hardship, finally I bought a flat in my own money. That was my dream house. So, I planned to give my best and for interior design I booked Livsapce. At first, their approach was so friendly and trustworthy. Once my payment was done and works were about to start. I was like “Dream house liya, par design ke chakkar mein khud hi trouble bulaya.” Indeed, I have never ever seen this unprofessional people before. During sales, the design was good , but the final installation was completely different one. LED strip lights were just stuck with double tape and started peeling off within 3 months. Most of the time, designer and engineer were not present in the site, they simply instructed their workers over the phone. For this nonsense work, I paid 6 Lakhs. Livspace literally played in my dream house. I’d suggest everyone, if you want to save your dream house, please don’t choose Livspace.
